  • Packard 8 Wisconsin

Got a guy down the road that built motorcycles all his life. Now he's building a street rod with a blown Packard straight 8 with a Nissan 5 speed on the back. Using a Model A coupe body. The frame is hand made.

Front end looks like a typical old rodders set up-I beam front axle that's been drilled, very similar to what I have in my 41 Ford pickup.

That thing is going to sit really low with that much front and rear kick up. The engine choice is great. I love seeing things besides SBC and automatic.

I had a sweet-running Hudson 8 some years ago. Wanted to do something like this with it, but a couple of Hudson nuts found out about my engine and made an offer I couldn't refuse.

I thought it might be a Studebaker Truck axel, but how is it suspended? I don't see any springs or shocks. Maybe they just havn't got there yet.

Better a Packard than a SBC.

Really, I'm tired of seeing SBCs in Fords...it's just because the builders are cheap/lazy.

Gives new meaning to big block proves to me the owner thinks out of the box or in this case out of block. Almost sure you won't see another just like it

The beam axle he has isn't wide enough, but with radius rods I would guess either a transverse leaf spring or coil over shocks. I'll check back on that.
