  • Pics of my '64 Daytona Hardtop Project

I'm delinquent in posting some pictures of my '64 Daytona hardtop project. I promised some friends at York that I would post some so here they are. My boys and I have done most of the work ourselves. I'm hoping to have it done in time for the Crossroads Zone meet in Dundee Michigan this summer. Still lots to do though. Fun project!

That is looking Great Neil, I like it.
You will have a better than New, '64 Daytona Hardtop, and in a very desirable Color, Laguna Blue Metallic!
Also a very good choice, is the 4 Speed T-10 Trans.

Wow, that looks great! Inspirational for me to see, I'm working on a 64 daytona myself. Going to be a long time before it looks as good as yours though. More pics please.

                        Beautiful Job.
To add to Sal's helpful criticism
Not that anyone will probably EVER see it, but Studebaker did actually use Body Color on pretty much the entire Interior including Floors.
I know at todays paint prices that may no longer be practical and it looks quite well sealed or primed or otherwise protected, so not too big a deal.
But since everything is so close to perfection that may matter to you, just say-in.

Looks like a great rust free body shell to start with.

I may be biased but 1964 hardtops are about the nicest looking American mid sized sedan of their era. No wonder they continue to be so popular.
