1940 Studebaker with steam engine

I came across this one.

There are not a lot of details and the image may show a blown gasket but, as this is not the april issue, I assume it is real.

Looked thru the whole book, found an ad for ONAN generators.

So my question is when did Studebaker buy Onan.

1969/72 F100/350's offered an Onan generator as a factory installed option. Mounted on the left fender inner apron.
