    What color (if any) is the DG200 #sco259091 and its bell housing supposed to be. Ken, Deltaville, Va

    That really would depend on the year of the vehicle. '50-'54 would be painted the old 'Bell Telephone Green'. '55 would be painted the Studebaker 'Alberta Blue' engine color.

      A 1955 would not be a DG200, that he asked about.

        Thanks, but is the bell housing engine color or Bell Green? Neither piece has much color left; on other cars bell housing is same as engine, assume that's same for the 54 Commander. Ken

          The Engine Color on '51 to '54 was Bell Telephone/Packard/Military Olive Green, so that is why your Converter Housing and whatever DG Trans. it has should be also.

              30 wt. oil (old style) green

              EDIT: This was intentional for the engine so that oil leaks would not show up.

                The real trick is getting the 'Alberta Blue' right on the '55 engines/bellhousings/transmissions. I've seen a lot of variations of that blue color. (Same also true of the '56-'57 Studebaker 'Turquoise' engine color!)
