The Avanti would look much nicer with standard Studebaker Avanti full wheelcovers. The Speedster wires REALLY don't work on this car!

Here is a beautiful 1957 Studebaker Golden Hawk that is factory supercharged. It has been beautifully restored. Recently out of a large private collection. Studebaker 289/275hp engine with McCulloch supercharger. Very rare car which was one of only 4,356 produced. Stunning white and gold color combination with a gold interior. In its day, the Golden Hawk was compared with the Chrysler 300B, Ford Thunderbird and Chevrolet Corvette. Zero to 60mph was 7.8 seconds and top speed of 125mph. The Golden Hawk was one of the very first muscle cars. As the final years of Studebaker, now Studebaker-Packard were coming to end, this design combined with state-of-the-art engineering produced a magnificent statement for the company.

All wheel bearings were also replaced with new. Engine was rebuilt with all new parts by OK engines in Lincoln, MN. It is a Flathead 6 cylinder and according to the manufacturer's tag on the seat base, it is rated at 68hp at 3,600rpm. There was no rust through, just surface rust and minor dents. All glass was installed. The body shop was able to match the original color using modern paint and clear coat, thanks to the Build Sheet. All the interior is repainted and replaced with NOS materials and re-upholstered. The exhaust is also new. The pickup runs and drives excellent.

I was there and viewed most of these in person. The Avanti was mostly original with a quicky repaint, it brought about what it was worth.

The Golden Hawk is truly a beautiful car, but I never would have guessed it would sell for anything close to $66,000. The Avanti interior appeared original and somewhat timeworn keeping the price down. The Champion sedan is in excellent condition. My guess is that it will sell for $20-25 K.

This was our first time at BJ and we will return in the future. What an overpowering experience!
