  • Aussie Christmas Story

I found this video story of a woman postie from Outback NSW delivering the Christmas mail interesting.

Mail delivery driver Gaye Nicholls travels 3,000 kilometres a week in the New South Wales outback to make sure people get their Christmas deliveries on time.

About 25 years ago I had a place at White Cliffs, about 100km north of where she starts out from, Wilcannia. I had a 64 Studebaker Cruiser, which was closer to a Daytona, was driven on those roads and the only thing I would have done to it would have been to add A/C. Hard on people and cars as the temperature used to get close to 50C, which is about 120F, and sometimes whilst driving on asphalt roads I could hear the gasoline boiling in the tank. Since then the road to white Cliffs has been asphalted as it used to be dirt all the way.
