I've recently become a fan of the '37 Coupe-Express and hope to get one someday. I have a question about this, though. How do you tell them apart visually at a glance from the company's other pickups of the era?

Front of j5 cp expresses truck uses the same sheet metal and grill as passenger car while the larger trucks had a completely different front end.
If you are serious about owning one I have a project truck in my storage garage. Jerry Kurtz York Pa

I guess the Coupe Express was the only light pickup Studebaker was building in 1937, 1938 and 1939. I don't remember seeing a 1940 Stude pickup. The only Stude M Series pickups I've seen were from 1941 - 1948.

... I have a project truck in my storage garage. Jerry, I was serious when I said I would not consider any more major projects! Then you have to go and mention this! :( Maybe if I could just find a well-heeled financier! :o

Hi Jerry,

I PM'd you about this. Can you reply to the private message and tell me what you're looking to get for yours?

Thanks,

Matt
