I think they saw the last one a Turquoise and White Automatic go for over $14,000.00 and listed this nicer one.

Here is ANOTHER one in New York, it was on eBay many years ago, and has not gotten any nicer in New York:

I am doubtful that it will be a 289. This is a 'Commander' based vehicle so it is likely to be a 259.

Its a nice looking wagon though, one of the nicest '57's I have seen so far.

That I one nice lookin' car!!!

I wasn't there, but I *think* this car was at the International in Sacramento.
I knew of it prior to that having been in contact with it's owner after the Portland Meet.

There are a few items in the ad that jump out at me though~

the s/n listed is missing a number (should be seven digits)
total '57 Parkview production was 738, not 857.
the '289' comments/decal needs an explanation

I see it ended at $14,100 'reserve not meet'.
There's something to be said for these cars, eh?

We know a 289 did not come in that car from the Factory so:

Is it a miss-labeled 259?

The original 259 with a 289 Crank, Pistons, and Decals?

A replacement 289 Engine?

Could you special order a 289 in a Parkview?

No, not for a regular non-commercial Customer Dealer order on "Paper" anyway.

The chances of a Corporate Employee Super Special Ordering one is about 1000 to 1, and if he did, it would have been documented as Special Order F2 2 Door Sedan Police Cars were, as a 57H-D4 President 2 Dr. Wagon.
It would no longer be a Commander 57B-D4 Deluxe Parkview.

The Parts Catalog does show such a Model; 57H-D4 in case it ever happened.
