  • Fuel System: Tired of Being "Gassed"

After filling our Stude's gas tank the smell of gas is overpowering. No sign of gas leakage underneath.
    What do you think?

Is it the '53 shown in the photos or another model? We need some more information, here! BP
We've got to quit saying, "How stupid can you be?" Too many people are taking it as a challenge.

Check the gasket around the fuel gage sender and/or a hole in the top of the tank Dave

Check the gas tank filler hose. The 2" rubber hose at the tank.
All mine were soft and leaking. Pain in the butt to drop the tank, but worth it.
Available through Studebaker vendors or from a good local parts house.

A VERY small (essentially invisible) amount of leakage can make a big stink.

You nailed it. Filler hose had become displaced. Thanks to all.
