  • OK, WHAT IS IT?

    There is a bracket on the right side of my 289 just forward of the dipstick that is held in place by a head bolt. What is this bracket for? Does anyone have a picture of this bracket doing it's intended job? Thanks!

    That is the bracket for the auto trans dipstick. Its facing the wrong way.

        It's probably facing the right way, as it's angled towards the rear of the engine. Good to know as I won't need it with a 4-speed. Maybe I'll get $50 bucks for it [)]?

          It's probably facing the right way, as it's angled towards the rear of the engine. Good to know as I won't need it with a 4-speed. Maybe I'll get $50 bucks for it [)]?
