What was the original color of the intake manifold on the 54 V-8? I assume that the valley cover was black.

You have the answers to both questions in the first 2 posts, no need to re-post the question.
NO, the lifter cover is like all major parts of the block & heads, pan, manifolds(water & Intake): Olive Drab Green!

I have been asked about the color of an overdrive on a '53 Commander. Mine is an automatic (and is too dirty to really tell). My thinking is the bellhousing, transmission and overdrive are all the same olive green as the block?
Sort of related. I know all accessroies are black, but I'm not sure about factory-installed Fram oil filters. I know mine is orange with the black lid, but according to build sheet, mine didn't have a filter so I assume it was dealer installed. Was the factory-installed filter all black like the other accessories or was it left Fram colors?

I can't document this, but I've heard (here) that Factory installed Fram Air Filters were orange with black top, and dealer installed were all orange.

I've always thought Olive Drab was the military OD, flat olive with no gloss. Drab means "dull". The engine enamel was near semi-gloss.Brad Johnson,
