  • Need help to ship to Australia

I have got a Studebaker guy in Australia that wants to buy some of my parts. However, when I took everything to the Post Office they informed me that the USPO no longer ships anything by surface mail, the cheapest but longest time way to go. You have a choice now of priority or express and it is $$$$. Does anyone have a better/cheaper way to ship stuff overseas now?

I have used the USPO for years to do this, what a crock.

Try FedEx. I'm sure they do stuff other than just expensive air freight.

Or ask one of our Aussie members for advise.

Must be some pretty heavy stuff. I ship stuff to overseas customers all the time via USPS Priority Mail and it doesn't seem to be all that expensive.

Just had the same issue, a ebay bidder from Australia win a small item on ebay even though I said no out of USA shipping. He PayPal'ed me the cost of the item and my $5.00 flat rate shipping charge. I guess he figured I'd absorb the extra $29 in postage on the $25 item. he asked me to ship it surface mail and I could not.

Better than a year ago I shipped about a dozen AFB mofified intake manifolds to New Zealand. Seems one of their members had a container going from LA to Oz and they were getting all sorts of goodies to stuff in there... Possibly you might find a fellow enthusiast doing the same type thing and that could get your stuff down under...
                    Just thinking out loud....

I've been shipping some motorcycle parts to a guy in France, via US post office.Last week the guy in the post office told me there is only one choice now for overseas. Priority mail,I think he called it.Things have been getting there in about 1 week. I think their cost is reasonable.Twice I shipped with DHL,one in USA,one in Australia-and got charged over twice what I was quoted on the phone.

$37us is about the best you can do IF it will fit in a flat rate box and weigh less than 20lbs.
