We Drove Our '61 Hawk on DYSD
On Saturday September 14, our '61 Hawk was accepted as an entrant in the Cobble Beach Concours D'Elegance at Owen Sound Ontario. We were in a class called Post War Thouroughtbred. In that class, there was two Thunderbirds, a Hudson convertible, and a Buick Skylark convertible, along with our car. We were thrilled to be chosen Best in Class with our car. This is our Flamingo Hawk which was delivered new to Afton Studebaker in Inglewood Ca. It has received several firsts one being at the SDC International Meet 2012 and at two of the ACCCC meets Concours D'Elegance. We didn't drive it very far that day, but it sure did attract a lot of attention. See the pix of the car and Roly with his ribbon. Two of the cars in this class were professionally restored.
