MPG? Maybe if you put a 1 to 1 Rear Axle on it.

In my experience, the words "mpg" and "454" should not be used in the same sentence.
I'm glad I don't have an odometer or I'd be tempted to actual calculate how shamefully low my mpg really is.

      Plenty o torque though!

Well, you probably shaved some weight, and a little Lark does not take much power to get it rolling efficiently..... You'll probably be surprised!

If you add a Gear Vendor OD that might help.

Yeah, I'm sure those two fours with non-progressive linkage is going to get great GPM's. I didn't make a mistake, I really did mean gallons per mile. But, just think how much fun it's gonna be when you stomp on the loud pedal.

I barrel per cylinder..... maybe we can make all eight work at the same time!!!

Pat, there will be a beefed up 700R4 or a 4L60 Tranny installed so there will be a little overdrive relief.

Need to add a trailer hitch so you can tow a fuel trailer.

I don't know about where you live, but in the rest of North Carolina we have plenty of gas stations....all it takes is money. Oh, and I understand that there will be an ATM instead of a back seat in the 454 Lark.....

Higher gears is the way to get more mpg, assuming your engine is in fine tune. Taller rear end gears and an od tranny is the way to go.

Yes, with an OEM short duration camshaft a 1500 RPM cruise can work.

No, absolutely not with an aftermarket longer duration cam. Most all rod builders want the rumpety-rump-big-mutha-thumper idle. The increased overlap doesn't stop fighting itself until about 2,500 RPMs. Trying to cruise a big cam at low RPMs will just be an exercise in frustration.

Maybe, tell us your cam duration and rear gear.

Thanks to everyone for your comments on MPG but to be honest I do not care about MPG only how quickly I can go fast.
Also thanks for over 5,000 page views on the blog.

I think the little Lark will pull pretty hard. Better hold on to your britches!!!
