Made a New Friend Today

[clarkwd]

A fellow walked up to my car at the show in Sturbridge last month and remarked, "Oh I got one of these, I'll call you later." We were both from the Triple Cities, 275 miles from Sturbridge. He called today and we had a two car show at his house.

I also sold my tri-tone (Neopolitan ice cream) 1955 Speedster. Mine went from me in NY to FL to ME to Canada where it turned into a black Speedster.

I also sold my tri-tone (Neopolitan ice cream) 1955 Speedster. Mine went from me in NY to FL to ME to Canada where it turned into a black Speedster.

Pretty, pretty pair. I see these and remind myself that I had one here for almost 2 years before I let it go (Lemon-Lime color). I only had a grand in it and it was rock-solid as C-K cars go, but I also knew I didn't want to pour the required money into it to make it right. If I had, the temptation would've been there to sell it and make a profit. Unlike JDP's famous Golden Hawk resto - the profit margin was just as big (maybe even BIGGER!) prior to the resto as it would've been afterwards.
I sold it to a young fella, helped him go thru what was his first engine overhaul, and have seen the gleaming results of his having poured on the moola. The end results gave us both reason to smile.[^]
