  • Studebaker on CBS Sunday

I was watching CBS Sunday last weekend (8/18/2013) and there was a Quick Draw segment called "Sounds of the Past," in which they talked about sounds that have disappeared, like rotary telephones, typewriters, etc. One of those sounds was the sound of a gas station drive-up bell.

But what caught my eye was the shape of a Studebaker pulling up to the gas pump - a purple (!) '53 Starlight. Here:

It's all there, from the swoosh to the rear window shape to the taillights! Here's the video link:

            I tend to agree!

Also, appreciate their ultimate message: "Appreciate the here and now!"

If you watch this, stick around for the segment on Art Deco cars. At one point they look down the side of a Silver Arrow that's on display but ahead of the Arrow there's a white Land Cruiser.
No deceptive flags to prove I'm patriotic - no biblical BS to impress - just ME and Studebakers - as it should be.

Yup, the cove goes back into the rear quarter instead of stopping at the door. But definitely a cool Stude.

Also, the image depicts the strip of chrome over the rear wheels on the sedan.

Great to see a Stude illustrated!

Good Stude. exposure! It is clearly a "F" body 2 Door Sedan, it's a '54 by the Trunk Emblems, and a '53 by the rear fender Moulding but definitely a Ceedan.

Yes a great show most Sundays or anytime you watch it if it's DVRed. They did a segment on a station wagon documentary some Saturdays ago. I emailed the show if they wanted to do a follow-up with my '64 wagon. I'm about an hour or so from their broadcast center I haven't heard anything yet.

I saw that too but it was up for such a short time I thought maybe my eyes were playing tricks on me. "I see Studebakers everywhere..."
