That hood was used for one year. And only for part of that year.

Ryan, I just found a supplement no. 1 now I want to say there is two different sedan hoods "first series vs. second series" so the gurus can set Me straight on this.but now I want to know,is the diff. just in the hood to cowl curve or is the width diff. at the back where the hood meets the fenders ? in other words,I'm thinking the ONLY diff. is one fender is pointed upper back and one is rounded upper back ?this should be fun,but just gotta know <G>

The difference was based upon the early flat windshield vs. the later wraparound windshield.

They are different because of the shape of the rear corners.
The flat (early) windshield hoods come to less of a point in the rear.
The late (wraparound) windshield hoods come to a sharper point in the rear.

It's not too easy to see in the above pictures,
but the black car is a '54 Land Cruiser,
and the yellow car is a late '55 Commander.

The '54's nose is spoken for. The '55's is not.

Thanks Dave, when you look at both cars would you say one fender would cross to the other by modifying the last 2 inches or so of the upper back corners ? gees now I gotta hope that the inner fenders are the same part #s,I need to hit the book again.

No, I would not. The same two cars above tell you why~
