any info that can be provided on Avanti seat foam/or orig. seats that are in good cond. I have good front seats with bad/hard foam. rear seat bottom completely gone. newby requesting any help. tks chas.

when i had my '63, i couldn't find any front seats. if there's enough left of them and the back seat, you may want to contact a few local upholstery shops to see what they can do.

When I replaced the seat covers of my front seats, I discarded the original foam as it was starting to break down on the seat bottoms. I replaced the original foam with 3" thick high density upholstery foam. The blocks can be cut to plan shape with an electric knife. There is no need to sculpt beyond that. The end result is much more comfortable than stock seats. It does take a bit of effort to compress the foam during the cover install, but it can be done.
