  • What's the deal with this Hawk? (CL ad price dropped quite a bit!)

This one was advertised in May for $5,900; the ad said no rust and fresh paint. Then came an ad for $4,500. Now it's listed for $4,200. A bondo buggy, perchance? Or--dare I dream it--a solid Hawk for this price?

Actually, it appears he is coming down to reality. I hadn't realized I posted the original ad (for $5,900) several weeks ago. It drew this comment from JBwhttail:

I looked at it today, has more mud in it than an adobe hut! Look at picture that shows the front of the car, look closely at the left front fender around headlight. Trunk lid filled also. It did start up and run. WAY WAY over priced.

Is that the correct rear deck lid for a 64 GT Hawk? Looks like it would be for an earlier Hawk

It is the right trunk lid. If he drops another grand he may sell it if someone wants a big project. Ask me how I know.

The problem may be as simple as it being on Craigslist. With the limited audience combined with the cars being listed according to the date it's put on Craigslist, it's not the best way to sell an 'old car'. A year ago a friend of mine listed his Studebaker on Craigslist, had it listed for 3 months. I finally convinced him to put it on ebay and he had it sold in a week.
