  • HELP!!!!!!! 57 Prez Hood Needed

I need a hood for a 57 President ASAP! The hood latch gave out while I was driving it today and I was planning on using the car in 3 weeks for my wedding. Anybody have any leads out there? Thanks!

Tom Karkewicz in South Bend. I'd wage he's you closest bet for such an item. Getting a hood frfom California to Iowa would be a logistical and monetary challenge.
No deceptive flags to prove I'm patriotic - no biblical BS to impress - just ME and Studebakers - as it should be.

I just called Tom and he has a "hood of last resort". It is kinked too. He said the someone opened it and the hinges were stuck so you can guess how that looks. Can someone supply Candbstudebakers phone #?

This is the first I have heard about it and no one has called, and I do have a good one but from California to Iowa could cost a lot, plus the cost of the hood, and 3 weeks good luck. 510-266-2522

Good luck with your search. I needed a replacement hood for my 1957 Packard, living in New Jersey mine had rusted out all along the front edge.
Found a beautiful hood but... It came from California. I was lucky with the shipping due to help from family and friends. Was shipped east to Indiana at no cost other than a good diner. I then drove to Indiana and picked it up.

There was a junk yard off I78 in Pa not too far from the NJ line. I bought the same hood there many years ago. They had lots of Studebakers there.

The good news is I have a good hood , it has some light surface rust on it but is solid no dents and is straight and has good bolt holes. Now the other half of the story it's in washington state up near Seattle, on Hood canal. The chrome pieces are pitted but it sounds like having yours blown up and bent at the hinge area this maybe exactly what you need.
Now then "Ahummm" price and arrangments for shipping. what doe's your wallet have to say?
