http://stcloud.craigslist.org/cto/3807216258.html Rare car I doubt the Packard club crowd wants to see one at a meet. How does the SDC crowd view these poor orphans?

Packardbakers are very popular with many in the club, some think they are not pretty. There is a Packard Hawk and a full sized car. Get the body number off the firewall (engine side) bring it here and you'll find out a lot.

The 1957 Packard sedan and wagon REALLY were good looking cars-----Not overdone...A Studebaker President +++. As for the '58 Packard sedan/wagon/HT models, ....Well, You need to consider where styling was heading during the '58-'61 domestic auto scene......TO THE MOON!!!!!!!

And might I add- one which we have seen many times over.

Looking at those pics of 'Cleo' one does have to wonder how your original statement is even possible. I do every time I see one of those two bodies.
The sedans, hardtops, and wagons all share the same nose.
The sedans and hardtops share the same tail too.
The only major difference is that extra four inches of wheelbase on the sedan.
Well that and the roof...

I like the way the car looks. The 57's had the same fishmouth grille but dual headlamps help the front end by taking some focus off the fishmouth. Obviously an add on as were the tailfins. I think the whole point in purchasing a 57-58 Packardbaker is part historical and part curiosity/stamp in time appearance.

In all honesty Bryan a '58 Packard Hardtop in that well rusted condition needing everything, would be a hard sell at over 2500.00 or even less due to the outrageous cost of restoring these in this condition. The rarity only can take it so far, because the desirability factor and condition brings it down a lot. That explains why after all this time, not too many are beating your door down for it.
I hope you can take my honesty from experience, the way it was intended, just trying to help. Good luck with your sale.
