I know this has been beat to death but I heard that someone had a different idea. They was running a line from between the carburator and the fuel pump with a very small orfice to let a small amount of fuel to return back to the tank. The idea is to help the fuel cool and therefore help keep from vaper lock . Does anyone know anything about this? I know modern cars do it.

The fuel return line was used on all the 'R' cars. It uses a .040 diameter orifice to allow a small amount of fuel to continually return to the tank. It seems to work well. I have not had any vapor lock problems in even the hottest weather and heaviest traffic.
