After sitting for perhaps two years, its time to try to start my 53. It has a small block chevy, a 200r transmission and an electric fuel pump. Any advice would be much appreciated. I'm going to have handy a fire extinguisher. I also thought I should squirt oil in the cylinders to lubricate them. Any other ideas?

Your on the right track oiling the cylinders first. I would then disconnect the coil & crank it to get oil in all the moving parts & the pressure up. Then reinstall the plugs & fire it up.59 Lark wagon, now V-8, H.D. auto!
