  • Champ Truck Bed Cover

I have a '61 Champ truck with the old style "fat fender" bed and am looking for a cover for the bed. I saw one one on a Ford truck not long ago that had a rail system. The soft cover could be pushed back against the cab using the rails and secured by Velcro. Conversely, it could be drawn across the bed along the rail system and secured, again, with Velcro.
I suspect this is a spendy cover and would be quite happy with one that secures with a turn snap. My bed is the standard 4' x 6.5'.
Does anyone know a good resource for these?

ST2DE5 - This is pretty slick. Is it home made, custom, or an off the shelf item?

This is what I have had on my 54 Cheby pickup for the last 14 years - love it - lifts from rear dual helper shocks - not good for regular p/u loads above bed rails however. http://checkerpro.com/

I just got a great group of photographs from 2R5 (Bob) showing how he built his own cover and I wanted to share how much I appreciate the extra effort Bob put into helping me understand what he did. As usual, Studebaker people prove they are the best. I plan to go out and price the materials for this project and see how it compares to purchasing something similar off the shelf. What Bob made operates much like the one Dave Hugo has on his "Cheby" truck. Once I get something finished I'll post some photos.
Thanks guys, for all the help and advice. You make owning a Studebaker even more fun than it already is.
