  • Key from build sheet code

Okay, while moving my 62 project around today my only key (an original
studebaker aluminum one) broke off in the ignition. Its the Y133
blank.... digging the pieces out of the ignition it bacame evident the
pieces are so distorted that its inpractical to glue them back
together to get a key cut....

Luckly, I have the build sheet for the car and have the key code. Who
here can cut a couple keys for me from the code asap? I'm in a rural
area and all the local locksmiths give me a blank look when I tell
them I need a key cut from code.

I need to drive the car to several shows on labor day, so if somebody
can help I'd appreciate it. The SDC is a great group.

    thanks!

Not to mess up your plans but I ordered a new set of keys by key code and none fit. They were either incorrectly cut, or the cylinders have been changed. Just saying these are realistic possibilities.

ASAP maybe not. I am a locksmith by trade and I could cut it for you by code but I am on vacation for the next two weeks. If you still need them after my vacation I could get them cut. I live in Oregon.
I can't believe you can't get a locksmith to cut them for you. If you can't wait you could give me the code and I could then send you the cut specs that you could take to a local locksmith. Let me know Keith

If you have all the old pieces, and a good locksmith who has the correct blank, he should be able to cut a new key just by looking at the old one.
