Over on H.A.M.B (?) in the last few weeks there was literature for an accessory cigarette lighter. A port on the dash into which the driver could insert the unlit cigarette. Studebaker accessory group was the company listed. I just tried a few searches there but came up empty

I've seen similar automatic lighters...and puffers...advertised for prewar English cars.

On the shelf in my barn I have a PRESTOLITE unit that is six-volt and ataches to the dash. The way it works is you load 12 cigarettes into it. As you drive along you press a button and in a few seconds a lit cigarette rolls out onto a tray. I picked it up at Hershey years ago for a few bucks still in the box. I just thought it was very neat, I don't smoke.

I was sorting some old parts today, and found something sort of in that vein. A cigarette lighter that incorporates a small map light with switch. Not sure if it will work without the heating element getting hot? Maybe the switch diverts the current from the heater to the bulb.
