Does an Avanti steering wheel fit a Lark column?

You will probably be the FIRST to find out if you try it!

Avanti Steering wheels are very hard to come by for those Avantis that need one, so not many would ever have been available to install on Larks.

Bummer. I was thinking how nice it would be in my Daytona.

maybe the Shrock Bros. could help you out (?)

2nd from the bottom, and the last pic...

used to have to "drop a dime" to call, but now it's probably less than that to find out.

I'm sure the Avanti wheel will fit - even thought of adding one to my '64 Daytona for kicks, but didn't. These are up for sale. If there is any doubt, the one on the left is restored! The restored wheel is $500. The core is $100.

"You will probably be the FIRST to find out if you try it!"

Actually no! A friend had one on his lowline 1964 Canadian lark type for years. Got it off of another junk yard lark type.
Funny aside, is that years later another friend bought a local Avanti less its factory steering wheel. Based upon marks on both the Avanti column and the other guy's wheel, the wheel seems to be from that Avanti.

I had this thought years ago

I remember contacting someone who was parting out an Avanti perhaps 20 years ago, maybe longer, about an Avanti steering wheel and the Avanti steering column head. I could have had it all for $250.00 plus shipping but I got a case of the cheaps and backed out of the deal... dumb, dumb, dumb

I still wish I could get an Avanti steering wheel but the closest I might get is a wheel from Con2r that from a distance might look like an Avanti steering wheel provided you remove your glasses and look around dusk

Glen Pray of Cord and Auburn replica fame said he bought surplus Avanti wheels for $3.50 each (back in the day).

I checked with Shrock Brothers a couple of months ago, IIRC they want $700 or something plus a core for a rebuilt wheel.

Bill, who restored the wheel sir? I've got one I'd like to have redone.
                      Thanks

That's my work but I'm not in that game. I did one for my own Avanti and later this one with remaining materials. Here's mine.

What is the process that you use for restoration WCP? Do you fill, file, sand and then paint or do you use resin like Schrock Bros?

Filled with epoxy filler and painted with 2-part urethane.
