    Just out of curiosity, does anyone, probably on the east coast, have a 259 engine with the serial number 580489?

    By itself, that's not a 259 engine #. It would be prefixed by at least a V, a P, or a 3E. What you've got there looks like a casting number.
    No deceptive flags to prove I'm patriotic - no biblical BS to impress - just ME and Studebakers - as it should be.

        That is the number off of the production order from the museum for my 63 daytona conv. It is a 259 which would have been a "v"
