  • Lark Door Panels.

I am looking to redo my 61 Lark door panels to be original design. It seems that there is one place that will do the original design. That is SMS fabrics. Looking at internet reviews, it seems that this company takes a long time to do their work and they seem disorganized.
    Has anybody used them?

Also has anybody made their own panels? If so where did you get materials?
Your help is appreciated. (Pictures are especially appreciated)
    Thanks.

If starlight Studebaker does not have any 61 door panels might get a quote from "Southeast Studebaker".

Looks like Starlight has a lot of door panels: http://starlightstude.wordpress.com/blog/ I wish they would respond to me also and let me know if they have seat covers for my 1963 Wagonaire.

I gotten samples from SMS and they always came very quickly. I can't tell you about door panels, though. But I never got the impression they were disorganized.

As I recall, Phantom would take weeks to things through the shop and it was just the nature of the business. If SMS takes that long it would not be unusual, apparently.

The samples came fast the other work slow. Seems slow for the money they want for these panels.
Does anybody know of a place that has the panel material for sale besides SMS? Thanks

Does anyone else remember the spools of door panel material SASCO used to haul out during meets? I remember 2 or 3 different colors and I seem to recall thinking that they were '61 patterns. Dennis would sell the stuff by the yard. I doubt most of it ever got sold as it was just the vinyl covering - not whole door panels. I wonder if that stuff made the jump to SI or it was passed on with all the other soft trim that went to Colorado.
