      A 54 Lark has NO momentum.But then,neither does a 52 Hawk.

It's probably just a throwaway line, in what passes for the real world most people don't have a clue about Studebakers, but he could be arguing the economy has as much momentum as a car that hasn't been built yet.

The morons in D.C. will take this at face value and argue:
-This is why we have to bail out Studebaker....
-This is why we shouldn't bail out Studebaker...

With neither side knowing there is nothing to bail out.

What's the problem with his comment other than the fact that the Lark was not manufactured in 1954? Actually he's giving the economy too much credit. My 63 Lark siting in storage without any plug wires and a thousand other ills has more momentum than this economy as the direction of this economy is negative! At least my 63 isn't moving.

Mmagic: If your 63 Lark (even though not running) still has a working "Reverse", that would allow it to surpass our economy.

For starters, he plays the game of "the guy who shouts the loudest is the only one who is right." Also, you have to remember it is his job to talk about how much things suck. If he doesn't go on and on about how bad things are, in an amusing way, they don't have him on anymore. For that reason alone, you can't trust anything he says, just like you can't trust anything from the guy who does nothing but say how great everything is. He is nothing more than an entertainer who is judged solely buy how many people he attracts to the show. The day he starts agreeing that things are getting better is the day HE'S looking for work.
