  • Regardie's mag article-Blake buys Avanti- lots pic

While looking through my stuff, I ran across this old (Feb/March 1983) Regardie's Magazine. It has the story of Steve Blake buying the Avanti Motor Co.

    Nate,

If you read this be sure to scroll down for a bit on Roger Penn, your local dealer that I mentioned to you when I picked up the seats on Friday.

Mr. Penn was the PO of my 88 LSC. Was his wifes car. removed the lowering kit because of local snow issues. Some one bumped into alot of curbs, didn't miss a wheel.

Leonard - you always post some interesting stuff from the past. Pretty extensive article (I haven't read all of it yet), but I noticed a few glitches in the captions - no matter.

Back when that magazine came out I was still commuting to Washington, DC (where Regardies was published). The following month I went to the publisher and bought all the extra copies they would sell. I was on foot (since I commuted by train and subway). I was planning to walk to the train (a couple miles), but finally gave up and hailed a cab. Those magazines were HEAVY[:I]. I sold them for the list price by a Turning Wheels ad. Considering the cab fare and the checks I had to send back when I ran out of magazines, I think I lost a couple bucks[V].
