I bought a nice Studie here in AZ.-I thought it was a 1951 -but the title says 1952 ? The vin# is G916486. Is this a missed titled car or late 51? What can be done? (I tried to upload a picture-but could not figure it out)Thanks, Walter B.

Walter: It looks like the car is a late 1952 Los Angeles (Vernon)-assembled Champion.
The Serial Number Range for 1952 Champions built in the Vernon CA plant was G907301 through G917641.
Does the car look like a '51 or a '52? It is possible someone put a 1951 nose on a 1952 car. BPWe've got to quit saying, "How stupid can you be?" Too many people are taking it as a challenge.

Hi Walter, Elizabeth is sick, so it will be after the first of the year most likely. We would have been there tomorrow otherwise. Yes we will bring the '41 again this time. Save me a parking space at your place for my trailer, appreciate your hospitality Walter!

If the car is a Champion, the 52 gauge panel is engine turned. A 51 Champion panel is painted with horizontal lines. I don't remember what is different on the Commanders. Of course, if the tail lights were not changed that would also be a clue to the front sheet metal being swapped. There are also different dash and window knobs. If you give us the numbers and letters on the tag on the firewall, we can tell you what it started out to be.
It should say something like 10G-C3 1234 or 12G-C3 1234 or something like that.
The tag is on the firewall, in the engine compartment, on the right side of the car. The numbers and letter are very large, so you can see them even in dim light.RadioRoy, specializing in AM/FM conversions with auxiliary inputs for iPod/satellite/CD player. In the old car radio business since 1985.
