  • Good Friendly Transortation Specialist Needed to Take Studebakers to Virginia

I know, I know we have discussed this subject many times but I wanted to get the experts opinion so I can make the best decision on who to hire to take my cars to their new home in Virginia. I know I can drive them but that'll take more than two trips and besides my lovely lady would prefer I not do that. It is about 400 miles one way and well that makes for very long days. I've thought about getting a group of friends to help me take them "home" but that got vetoed too. Now for the groups opinion. Thanks in advance for all of the great answers that I can expect.

Normally, I would recommend Peg's Trucking. Your special case may elicit a different response. You don't say how many cars you need to transport. If it is four, or more, then it may pay to contract with a hauler just for your trip. Look to the companies that do dealer auto auction work near either end of your trip.
A word of advise - Do not let them carry three and "drag" one off a stinger. Do not let them contract and then have drivers drive one or more of the cars. In auto business, I have been caught up in both of these.

Don: MY suggestion would be to get the number of drivers you need from a pool of your friends to drive them to VA and have a 'runner' follow along to bring the drivers back to the PA/NJ area when finished. A much better piece of mind. stopak

Sounds a plausible plan and, we do have a KRC member with a vehicle capable of hauling the crew back.

I have used Pegs Trucking in two separate moves recently. She is top shelf knows the business loves Studebakers and get the job done. I have no reservations in recommending her.

Hey Don, how far off I-95 are you? We are driving to FL Thanksgiving week. Maybe I could drive one down for you on the way? I know Linda would be game for driving the '12 Impala that much.

Bob I am west of Richmond At Appomattox. It is about 95 miles west of I-95. It's to far to make it practical for that kind of out of the way drive but I really appreciate the offer.

John give me PEG's number please. Thanks
