  • Went Shopping Today (Bought Nothing)

Pondering a project to entertain me through the winter, but these may be more project than I want:

I was shocked at how smoothly the little 6 ran, and how quiet it was:

Oh c'mon. That black president just needs a driver. And that lark? Why a good go around with a shop vac and a couple of towels to throw over the front seat--hey presto, done.

I'm not really seeing too much work here. You should buy both!

So, Dave, whats the story on, and the price of, of the 1956 President? I've always been interested in the '56 models.

Those short wheel base '56/57 V-8 sedans are pretty neat!
First gear start and I trust the dual exhausts means a WCFB?

            Uhhhh- what?

I'm unaware of first gear start in those unless it was added later in life. (or is a stick)
The duals 'might' mean a WCFB, but not always.
Keep in mind- even a Champion had that bumper in '56...

John, I didn't have the time to look too closely at the '56. It appears to be a driver. The seller said he bought it from a fellow about 60 from its current location, and I think he said he drove it home.

As you can see in the pictures, it needs paint.

The paint is not only thin, but cracked... lacquer, probably.

The bumpers, moldings, etc. seem to be in good driver condition.

He is asking $3,250 for the car, and I suspect that is negotiable. He seems like an honest fellow to me. His contact information is:

                email: butlerjb@itlnet.net

The car is only about 15 miles from me, if you get serious about it, I can run back over there and take a closer look, pics, etc.

Thanks for the info. That seems like a reasonable price for a car in driveable, solid condition. I'll run this proposal past "the committee".
