I just wanted to let you know we (daughter and I) finished getting our 1950 Commander road ready in time to make the 3rd annual Rockabilly and Hot Rod show here in the Fredericksburg VA area.

What a thrill to drive it.

This is what it looked like last week:

I didn't think it would be ready for today...

It's a Rockabilly show. You could have taken it just like in the picture and it still would be a big hit. I'll bet you gor a lot of attention with it. What a great father/daughter day.

What did you decide to do with the butterfly in the carburetor?

A friend was watching while I put the carb back together and he also thought the throttle plate should open fully. So I ground the bellcrank tab until the plate almost opens fully. I can always weld a bit back onto the belcrank if needed to return to the not fully open style.

I had to weld up the slots where the upper control arm bolted to the frame! They are round holes from the factory... Those upper bolts were so loose the rocking action had broken one bolt through the mount.

Lots of little stuff, but it runs like a 55k mile car.

Hey Frank, I just bought a 50 Commander as well. Would love to see some pics of your progress, and congrats on the car!
