  • Preston Foster's 1940 Studebaker

Hello, was watching a Preston Foster movie Thursday night. Was interested as he grew up in Pitman NJ where I grew up. Kinda a local hero guy there, at least from my generation.
Anyway, I googled him and found he had a custom made 1940 Studebaker camper. Found pictures of it on the Internet but was unable to copy a photo to post here. Was wondering what model Studebaker it was based on, maybe a President? And what ever happened to it?

        Says its a 1939 model with a 116-inch wheelbase. I'd guess a Commander?
Here's an article (tear-out) for sale on eBay from Autolit.com:
Pretty cool features, including a generator behind the right grille to power the refrigerator.

I just noticed the woman in the original photo was "airbrushed" out of the feature article. I wonder why?

Great article! Looks like they altered the photo a bit. What happened to the girl with the hatchet?
