Opened the hood of the 49 to take some pictures and this is what I found on the fire wall, do you think this is a dealer option? and what would you do with it?

It was common in Vintage and Veteran cars to have an oil can mounted to the firewall. Both my 1916 and 1925 Studebakers have them as standard equipment.Dave Pink

I know as I use one with a flex head all the time when trying to fill the cyl. holes on a stuck engine, just fill the can with Marvel Mystery oil and put in as much as the hole will hold.Candbstudebakers
