A while back I came across a few Studebaker items that I have been Ebaying to hopefully get me some Turner disc brakes for my Hawk. Anyway, This brass plaque was in the cache and I found it interesting.

Should I presume this was used as a part of the Studebaker-Packard "merger" (or some time thereafter)? What I find intriguing about this is its mention of "Studebakers, Clippers and Packards". Any thoughts on why "Clippers" would have been specifically mentioned?

I think for a brief period Clippers were an individual marque.

To: BShaw,-----It narrows that plaque's 'build date' to 1956......VERY rare item.

Yes, Clipper was a brand separate from Packard, at that time.
It is analogous to Valiant being a brand the first year (1960 model) and then a Plymouth model after that. More trivia - the Valiant was a Falcon during the design stage.
