Tonight at Mecum in Dallas 1964 Studebaker Avanti R2, one owner, 6,353 original miles sells for $42,000 plus commsion.

we were just disscusing this in another thread, there is the proof of what I was saying. The problem with this can be that every person who finds one of these in grandpas garage will want 40 grand for it....... On the other hand, this auction will help prop up / set the average price for Avantis in very good shape.

I still recall that M series truck that sold at a barret auction for 47 grand. It was a nice truck, but not worth that hyped up pricetag. In my book it needed work, the bodywork on the tailgate looked like a sack of walnuts and a frayed wire harness was laughable!

That's great news and good exposure for us Avanti owners but we need to understand one sale does make it a great markets for us all. Sure does elp when these cars go for prices like this especially from the exposure stand point.
