    I'll agree with Sherwood Egbert being a hero as he is mine also, the Avanti was totally his idea from the start, and it was he that got er done! RL not so much.

      Loewy may not be the man of the year in most Studebaker followers eyes but he should get some love for the Avanti. As I understand it, Loewy was the one that insisted on no management interference, hence the Palm Springs hideaway. And although Loewy was not present for much of the styling work that went on, He had set some design parameters that really made the car special. He also hand selected the stylists that put it all together in record time. Signing on Tom Kellogg was a stroke of genius.

      He's got my love for that one.
