  • Fuel System: Does anyone have 1952 Commander float level specs?

    Hey guys,

Does anyone have the specs for checking the float level on a '52 Commander? I rebuilt the carb, but want to double check the float level as she is running too lean before I start re adjusting everything else.

The Shop Manual does not set the floats with a measurement but uses a special tool/gage #T-24971. I understand StudeRich of Ferndale WA knows a good deal about these carburetors so hopefully he will see your post and he either has the gage or knows how to make the adjustment without it.

There is a threaded plug on the left side of the carburetor float bowl/body. You can see it in between the linkage. The fuel level should be right at the bottom of the opening with the plug removed.
