Lois Tyler of Bradford, PA who raced a 1960 Studebaker Lark 6 in the NASCAR Women's National Championship race, January 31, 1960 at the Daytona International Speedway, passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2012. Lois was 81 years of age.
She raced Legends type race cars extensively later in her life. Her late husband, Carl Tyler, raced on the Beach in the last NASCAR beach race and in the first race held on the new Daytona International Speedway in February 1959.
Lois also served as a long time race scorer for Richard Petty.
