I remember when our local Studebaker dealer closed its doors after Studebaker announced the end of production in Canada. Sad day! It reopened as an AMC dealer and I secured a part time job there for my third and fourth years in college. After an inquiry as to where all of the Studebaker material was stored, I was told that it all had been dumped. That just busted my bubble (hopes). Thanks for sharing, Jeff.1957 Studebaker Champion 2 door. Staten Island, New York.

Behind the wheel was W.F. Jones of St. Catharines, the oldest Studebaker distributor in Canada. Seated beside him was D.C. Gaskin, vice-president of the Studebaker Corp.
“Mr. Jones honked the horn and everyone laughed and the ceremony ended,” the Spec reported.
The happy times lasted 18 years. The plant suddenly closed in 1966, two years after Studebaker shut down the plant in its hometown, South Bend, Indiana.Last edited by 2moredoors; 08-19-2012, 06:25 AM.sigpic
