Nice '53 "Champion" on E-pay

Have known this car since 1996 and it is very nice - built to be a cross-country cruiser and knowing the owner/builder - everything is as close to perfect on the built as one could get.

On many occasions driving to a Studebaker chapter meeting in Central Texas, the owner and his wife would blow past us with big smiles on their faces enjoying the AC...

Wonder if Mark still has the President house car??? Probably nice at the campgrounds, but brutal in the corners getting there...

Plus a year and starting with a V8. Looks like you have an excellent start there. I like 1953s, but with the 1954 you are starting with the later brakes and your 1954 starts with a V8 chassis instead of six cylinder.

Those are a few of the reasons why I picked this car over the much much nicer '53 Commander
(and about ten other Studes on my list) that were at the same auction.

It sure is tempting to go after this one being that it's already 'done' and all...

I think the listing states that it has finned drums all the way around - and knowing the owner they are definitely the '54 and later style...

It does, and there is a picture (or two) of them in the ad as well~
along with a rear sway bar.

It's just like I plan to build mine, I tell ya...
