  • Need a morale booster - got before and after pictures?

If you've restored your Studebaker, I'd like to see some before/after pictures to give me some sense of what others have gone through and maybe boost my morale a bit. It seems like my car will take forever, even though it's not a basket case at all!

Anyway, it would still be fun to see what you all have done!

I'm not done with mine yet, so I could use a boost too!

That said, There are a few great examples on this forum already, but one that I think it fun to look at is the Zip van that the South Georgia chapter put together. Here's the link. Scroll down fast. It's not a "real" video or slideshow, but more of an animated gif-type thing, but it's still neat to see. Hey, Matthew (or any of the South Georgians) - are those actual photos online anywhere?

Not as much fun as a CE full of Hooters women, but....
My car didn't look bad before the restoration, but there were paint issues that didn't show up in photos (which I knew about before purchasing..it was a 20 year old cheapie respray) and the window rubbers had "gone to be with Jesus" many years ago, likewise the seat padding.
So here's a photo of it in progress and finished.

                    Scott,
I would think you would be happy that your car has made the progress that it has. Considering the mess we had to fix. And it runs now, compared to what it did off the trailer. And I don't call spit & sputtering a running engine. And the brakes are upgraded and working now. You saw what we took out of there!
Get some tire, put the window regulator in it and drive it..
It doesn't have to be pretty to have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll say it don't !!!!!!!!!!!! Ask some of the gang that saw mine at the 2011 SC zone meet. I think it was descrided as: Not the nicest I have seen, Not the straightest I have seen, and not the best paint I have seen, and there is very little upholstery. But I have had a blast for 2000 miles of Driving.

The above is During, and my sig is now below. very little difference. LOL couldn't get a before on yet.

These are great! That Packard wagon sure is shiny now! I should have asked for photos like these a long time ago. Keep them coming.

Yeah,it doesn't have to be pretty, but I like it when the paint doesn't just suck up the wax and pretend I never even tried!

                            Scott,

It could be worse off then it is. At least the car is all one color!
I would try different waxes till you found one that gives it somewhat of a shine. Meanwhile, Drive it and save up for a new paint job.

                              Flashback,
I like your car. None of mine will ever be anything other then drivers. Or correct as the factory built it. I don't want a museum piece, or something that I have to trailer.
I am close to having my "64 Wagonaire to where I can drive it. And I will, as it is. Original paint and a dent. But it will be fun and it will be back on the road.
When summer comes to a close it will be put up for sale as I have three other Studes and a "56 Chevy 150 that I have plans for and those I am keeping.
