  • What I missed at the Proving Grounds

I only wish I took a closer look at these Google Earth images BEFORE I went there. I didn't realize these were probably taken mid-spring before they were in 'full-foliage' stage. I know where to look now the next time I get there....

Looking at the last photo, which shows the trees that spell out
"Studebaker", did anyone notice that the shrubs outside the Studebaker National Museum also spell out "Studebaker". Just wondering.

If you look close those 2 vehicles that look almost white are probably newer cars ....maybe???
They sure aren't rusty brown like the other ones.

                Bob,

Could it be that they are the only two that are upright and the others are "upside over"?

I had a feeling you would post these Craig.

I wish I had seen this before South Bend, I would have thrown a tow-rope in the back of my Orange truck!

And maybe a chainsaw, shovels, cherry picker, some skids, and few other tools!
They've been there for years and years, less their chassis. They would tear to pieces if you tried to pull them out with a rope![:0]
But the biggest challenge is getting in there to retrieve them. You'd have to pull a Bob Palma, and sneak in there!! I wonder it that "Model 'N'" prototype is still there. That one should be retrieved for sure!!
