  • 170" engine Hp

I was wondering if anyone knows how much horse power a 170" would have if it were bore .040
    or .060

Ron Dame in No.Carolina should know. He was building just such an engine. He should have it done by now.

            Agreed...what they said.

Additional HP is more dependent on more air in and more air out. Therefore, better flowing - int./ehx. ports, camshaft and intake/exh. manifold and larger carburetor would be required.

Well, not exactly. Mine is an OHV Champ with a 185 crank and .030 over. Best guess is around 125-130 in this trim. An interesting experiment, but not worth the $$ for the minimal gain. Just a simple overbore...not much. If' it's a flattie, even less.
