Engine: Cartridge Oil Filter Lines

I want to make a set of SS lines (instead of hoses) for my cartridge oil filter. I am assuming I can use 1/4" tubing, or is 3/16" OK. I know there is a restrictor coming from the head connection, what can be used for this, or how were the factor steel lines setup to restrict the pressure?
