  • Tom's new race Avanti project

I went over to my friend, Tom Covington's to talk to him about the trouble with my 52 Commander and he had just brought home a 63 Avanti that had been set up for drag racing. His brother was there and we helped Tom get it off his trailer.

Tom is quite a legend at the local drag strips and when he builds a Studebaker engine for this car, it will certainly increase that legend.

I put more pictures on Web Shots. Here is the link:

        Man .. for a second there I thought I had another project!![B)]

Seriously though, I have seen the pictures on Racing Studebakers, and
its quite impressive. I cant tell from looking at it how much of the
car is still Studebaker .. but the body is fairly intact.

        Should turn heads.

I will let Tom do that since he can answer questions that I can't.

The story of him getting this car is already on the racing forum.
