  • Studebaker Butcher

You might call it a Buickobaker. Of course that would depend on which side you are looking at. Or check out the mismatched headlights and taillights. This appears to be a work in progress depending on which Craigslist ad you are seeing. I wonder if he changed out the dash too?

I appreciate his vision and I love it when people think outsid of the box.
But you do have to have an eye for it.
This is obviously a first time builder.

Is that a Pontiac fender/fin on the one side? I think that looks kind of nice, if only it was semetrical.

I guess the ad says it is Buick, missed that.

Reminds me of the Cadilliac Johnny Cash sang about.

Kinda looks like what happens when you let a toddler pick out the clothes for a day.

Pink hat, a flip flop, a cowboy boot, yellow socks, black boxers over a pair of blue sweats, spider man tshirt, water wings, rain slicker and Mom's purple sunglasses.

I hope it's only one Stude he butchered. There are pix of a 2dr sedan, and pix of what appears to be a business coupe, with opera windows. That is a whole lot of work to push the roof forwards like that, if that is what he did. I wonder which, if any, of the pix is the car in its current schizophrenic state?

What can you say? except different by design, or to each his own. I have seen worse.

I actually smiled at that car, but then I put on my my serious metaphorical hat and thought that just because you can do it, does not equate to you should (or must) do it.

I am reminded of a certain Bizarro cartoon by Dan Pirraro. The "what breed of dog is that? Half shepherd, half lab" one.

Somewhere out there, someone will see this and assume that that's how Studebaker made them. Then an entire series of folklore about Studebaker being owned by Buick and building cars from parts over multiple years and makes will grow. This car must be destroyed.

In a weird way, I kind of like the front end treatment. The rest... No. The car has some potential, looks like it just needs finished. Badly.

Surely you jest my friend. That car is a living, breathing, rolling piece of fluid art which will someday have a place of honor in front of some non-descript building in some no name town.
